Healthie alternative: NutriCRM vs Healthie
Healthie is a full EHR built for US healthcare, with charting, insurance claims and HIPAA-compliant telehealth. NutriCRM is built for the business side of a nutrition practice: turning enquiries into clients, building diet plans, tracking follow-ups and payments, and giving clients an app under your own brand.

The short answer
If you are a US practice that bills insurance, needs an ONC-certified EHR or relies on HIPAA-compliant video, stay on Healthie; NutriCRM does none of those. If you run a cash-pay nutrition practice and want a lead pipeline, a built-in 7-day diet plan builder and a client app under your own name without an enterprise contract, NutriCRM is the more focused fit.
Choose NutriCRM if you want…
- A lead pipeline that tracks every enquiry from first message to paying client
- A built-in 7-day meal grid with templates, food database and recipes
- Your own branded client app in the App Store and Play Store without an enterprise plan
- Subscriptions, payment status and invoices next to each client record
- A tool focused on nutrition practices rather than general healthcare
Choose Healthie if you need…
- Insurance billing, claims, superbills or CMS 1500 forms
- A HIPAA-compliant platform with built-in telehealth video
- An ONC-certified EHR with e-labs, e-prescribing and charting

Different products for different problems
Healthie is an electronic health record first. Its own nutrition page leads with charting templates, an ONC-certified EHR, e-labs and e-prescribing, insurance claims and HIPAA-compliant telehealth. Those are the needs of a clinical practice inside the US healthcare system, and Healthie covers them in depth.
NutriCRM starts from a different question: how does a nutrition practice find clients, keep them and get paid? Its core is a lead pipeline (new, contacted, qualified, converted), client records with health history, a follow-up timeline, subscriptions and payment status, and a diet plan builder, all tied to one client record.
Neither is a lighter version of the other. If your week is shaped by claims and clinical documentation, Healthie fits. If it is shaped by enquiries, plans and renewals, NutriCRM fits.
Diet planning: built in vs integrated
Healthie lets clients log foods and meals with nutrient tracking, and its help centre describes meal planning through an integration with Living Plate Rx, a separate meal planning service. It is a workable setup if you already use that service.
NutriCRM builds plans natively: a 7-day meal grid from breakfast to dinner, a searchable food database where you can add your own foods, a recipe library you can share and fork, reusable templates, and calories, protein, carbs, fat and fibre calculated as you go. The plan lands in the client app with no second tool.
Branded client app
Both products give clients a mobile app. Healthie says a fully white-labelled mobile app is an add-on for its Enterprise plan; on its standard plans clients use the Healthie app.
NutriCRM publishes a branded app under your clinic name and logo in the App Store and Play Store on its higher plans, so clients see your practice rather than the software vendor. Ask on a demo which plan your practice would need.
Where NutriCRM falls short
Be clear on the limits before you switch. NutriCRM is English only, has no built-in video calling (it connects to Zoom and Google Calendar instead), is not HIPAA certified and does not handle insurance billing. It is also younger, with a smaller integration list than Healthie.
For a US clinic that bills insurance, those gaps are usually decisive, and Healthie is the safer choice.
Pricing
Healthie publishes four plans (checked October 2026): Core at $19 per month for 10 active clients, Essentials at $49 for 250 clients, Plus at $129 with unlimited clients, and Group from $149 with additional clinicians at $50 per month each. Annual billing is slightly cheaper. Insurance claims through ClaimMD start at an extra $30 per month, and the mobile white-label app is an Enterprise add-on.
NutriCRM quotes pricing on a short demo based on your client volume and team size, with no per-message or credit charges. You can also start a 7-day free trial without a card.
Switching from Healthie to NutriCRM
There is no automated import from Healthie into NutriCRM. Client profiles and plan templates are re-created, so most practices start new clients in NutriCRM while existing clients finish their current programme where they are.
Before you leave Healthie, export or archive the client records and charts you are required to keep. If you rely on insurance claims, make sure you have another route for them before switching.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good Healthie alternative for dietitians?
It depends on what you use Healthie for. If you need insurance billing and a full EHR, Practice Better and SimplePractice are the usual alternatives. If you run a cash-pay nutrition practice and care more about leads, diet plans, payments and a branded client app, NutriCRM is built for that.
Is Healthie HIPAA compliant? Is NutriCRM?
Healthie states that its platform is HIPAA compliant and offers HIPAA-compliant telehealth. NutriCRM is not HIPAA certified, so US practices that need HIPAA compliance should use Healthie or another HIPAA-compliant platform.
How much does Healthie cost?
As of October 2026 Healthie lists plans from $19 per month (Core, 10 clients) to $149+ per month (Group), with a 14-day free trial and no free plan. Insurance claims and the white-label mobile app cost extra.
Can NutriCRM bill insurance like Healthie?
No. NutriCRM handles subscriptions, payment status and invoices for cash-pay clients, but it does not submit insurance claims or create superbills.
Does NutriCRM have video consultations?
Not built in. NutriCRM connects to Zoom and Google Calendar for sessions. Healthie includes HIPAA-compliant video on all plans.
