- This recipe will make 7-8 sevings of plum cake.
- In a saucepan, melt 1/2 cup brownsugar over medium heat until it turns golden brown.
- Carefully add 1/4 cup water to the melted sugar, stirring continuously until it forms a smooth syrup.Set aside to cool.
- Preheat your oven to the recommended temperature.
- In a bowl, sift together 1 cup whole wheat flour and 1 tsp baking powder.
- In another bowl, cream 2/3 cup of salted butter with 1 cup of sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the caramel syrup and vanilla essence to the butter-sugar mixture, blending well.
- Gradually incorporate the sifted dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until smooth.
- Fold in black raisins, chopped dates, almonds, cashews, and the powdered spices (clove, cardamons, nutmeg, cinnamon).
- If the batter seems thick, you can adjust the consistency by adding a little milk.
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake tin.
- Bake in the preheated oven for the specified time or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the tin for a while before transferring it to a wire rack.
- Once completely cooled, slice and serve this delicious eggless whole wheat plum cake. Enjoy!
