- Prepare the Dough:
- In a bowl, combine maize flour, salt, carom seeds, and 1 tsp oil.
- Gradually add hot water and knead to form a soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Shape the Rotis:
- Divide the dough into equal-sized balls.
- Place a ball between two sheets of plastic wrap or parchment paper and gently press
- Or roll into a circle about 6-7 inches in diameter.
- Cook the Rotis:
- Heat a tawa (griddle) over medium heat.
- Carefully place the roti on the hot tawa.
- Cook one side until you see bubbles forming, then flip it.
- Spray lightly with olive oil and cook until golden brown spots appear.
- Flip again, spray with olive oil, and cook until both sides are well cooked.
- Serving Size:
- Serves 4-6
