- Savor the flavors of Aratikaya Vepudu, a simple yet delicious Andhra-style dry sabzi made from raw bananas, perfectly seasoned with spices and a hint of garlic for a delightful side dish.
- This recipe will make 2 servings of Aratikaya Vepudu.
- Boil the sliced raw bananas with a pinch of turmeric and salt until they are just cooked but still firm. Drain and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add urad dal to the pan and sauté until it turns golden brown.
- Add the crushed garlic cloves and curry leaves. Sauté for a few seconds until aromatic.
- Add the boiled raw banana slices to the pan. Stir gently to mix with the tempering.
- Sprinkle turmeric powder, red chilli powder, rasam powder, and sesame powder over the bananas. Add salt to taste. Mix well to ensure the bananas are evenly coated with the spices.
- Cook on medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the bananas are slightly crispy and the spices are well roasted.
- Once done, turn off the heat and transfer the Aratikaya Vepudu to a serving dish.
- Serve hot as a side dish with rice and dal or rasam for a complete meal, enjoying the traditional flavors of Andhra cuisine.
