- This recipe will make 5 servings.
- Heat a non-stick pan on medium-low heat. Add almond flour to the pan and roast it until it turns light golden in color and releases a nutty aroma. Stir continuously to avoid burning.
- Once roasted, remove the pan from heat and let the almond flour cool for a few minutes.
- In a separate small bowl, mix the condensed milk, cardamom powder, and saffron strands together.
- Add the condensed milk mixture to the roasted almond flour and mix well until it forms a sticky dough- like consistency.
- Again heat the pan to low flame and cook the mixture for a few more minutes until it thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
- Once the mixture has thickened, transfer it to a greased plate and spread it evenly using the back of a spoon or spatula. You can also use a flat-bottomed bowl to press and smooth it out.
- Garnish with chopped nuts (if desired) and let it cool completely. You can refrigerate it for faster cooling.
- Once cooled, cut the almond barfi into desired shapes like squares or diamond shapes.
- Serve and enjoy the delicious almond barfi as a sweet treat.
